These projects are actually quite involved with many milestones and steps. While we encourage you to select a single point of contact for us to avoid us having a committee for a boss, you still may make internal decisions by committees. To put it politely, there are faster ways to make decisions than by committee.
When we establish a calendar, rarely do we have to alter it, although we have had to do so very occasionally for management challenges on our end. However, our clients often find that the many milestones - especially at the beginning of a project - require more review time than they were anticipating by the time all members of the group weigh in. If staying completely on time is critical to your project, we know from experience that you should seriously consider dispensing with the committee.
The other major hurdle we often must overcome is project managers who are unable to return our calls promptly. The first two phases are a fairly linear workflow; when calls go unreturned or decisions are unmade, we are often unable to move forward. This is the most frequent reason for project delay.
